Bibliotherapy & Literary Mediation

Bibliotherapy & Literary Mediation *

Bibliotherapy is a cultural mediation practice that uses reading, listening, and writing to open spaces of well‑being, creativity, and shared experience. I support participants through the words, emotions, and stories that move through us.

Trained since 2022, and drawing on a background in social work, translation, and children’s literature, I define myself as a story‑bearer: someone who selects, connects, and transmits texts that open inner pathways.

My workshops are designed to be accessible, sensitive, safe, and deeply human.

The Things that Make a Difference

The Things that Make a Difference *

  • Bibliotherapy creates a rare kind of space: a suspended moment where words become supports, mirrors, and breaths. Its effects are gentle and gradual, yet deeply nourishing.

    Creating Connection

Shared reading and collective resonances foster genuine encounters, even among people who have never met before. Literature becomes a bridge.

    Soothing and Recentering

Grounding practices, read‑aloud moments, and intuitive writing invite participants to slow down, settle, and reconnect with a calmer inner space.

    Stimulating Imagination

Texts open doors to images, memories, emotions, and new ideas. They awaken creativity—even in those who believe they are “not creative.”

    Exploring Emotions Gently

Without analysis or interpretation, participants can welcome whatever arises, at their own pace, within a safe and caring framework.

    Rediscovering Meaning

Words help name, illuminate, and connect. They offer echoes, clues, and new perspectives that can shift the way we see things.

    Stepping Outside Daily Life

A bibliotherapy workshop is a parenthesis: a moment for oneself, to breathe, to listen to what resonates, and to reconnect with inner movement.

    • A set of clear, human‑centered principles that guide every workshop and every group I accompany.

    • Kindness and respect for each person’s rhythm — allowing everyone to participate in the way that feels right for them.

    • Confidentiality of all exchanges — what is shared in the group stays in the group.

    • Adaptation to the audience and the setting — seniors, teens, adults, mixed groups, online or in‑person.

    • High literary quality with carefully chosen texts, without elitism — accessible, meaningful, and resonant.

    • A safe, non‑judgmental framework — a space where emotions and silence are equally welcome.

    • Professionalism and reliability — clear communication, preparation, and punctuality.

These commitments shape the atmosphere of each session and help participants feel genuinely supported and at ease.

    • A cultural activity accessible to everyone

    • A powerful tool for creating social connection

    • A gentle way to approach emotions

    • A sensitive alternative to traditional activities

    • A format adaptable to all audiences

    • A memorable and soothing experience

  • All bibliotherapy workshops are offered exclusively in group settings, because the strength of this practice lies in the collective resonance it creates. Words circulate, respond to one another, and take on new meaning depending on the sensitivities present. The group becomes a space of support, listening, and shared creativity.

    In‑Person or Online Groups

Workshops can be offered in different formats depending on the needs of the host organization or participants:

    • In person — libraries, schools, nursing homes, companies, social structures, and cultural venues.

    • Online — allowing anyone to join from wherever they are.

Online sessions maintain the same quality of presence, structure, and care as in‑person workshops.

For Individuals: Randomly Composed Small Groups

Cycles for individuals take place in small groups formed randomly. This diversity creates a rich, sensitive, and often surprising dynamic. People who do not know each other share a suspended moment, free from social expectations, simply brought together by words.

Why Work With Me?

My approach to bibliotherapy is rooted in a rich, coherent, and deeply human professional path. Every step of my journey now shapes the way I accompany groups.

Strong Experience in the Literary Field

  • Former librarian, experienced in selecting, sharing, and highlighting texts

  • Founder of reading clubs and writing groups

  • Creator and facilitator of intergenerational literary cafés, especially with seniors

  • Author and translator, bringing a writing sensitivity that nourishes my workshops

This immersion in the world of books allows me to choose texts that are demanding, sensitive, and accessible.

A Deep Foundation in the Social Sector

I have worked with people facing vulnerability, isolation, or a search for stability. This experience taught me:

  • attentive listening

  • patience

  • constant adaptation

  • the creation of safe, supportive frameworks

  • an understanding of group dynamics

It strengthens my ability to welcome each person with respect, gentleness, and accuracy.

A Mediator’s Posture — A Story‑Bearer

I am not a therapist. I create spaces where words circulate freely, where each person can settle without exposing themselves, and where texts become companions along the way.

A Professional, Structured, and Caring Approach

  • intentionally designed workshops

  • precise literary choices

  • a clear, non‑judgmental framework

  • strong adaptability to audiences and settings

  • respect for each person’s rhythm

My aim is to offer workshops that combine literary quality, emotional safety, and a sensitive, meaningful experience.

What Bibliotherapy Is Not

Not a Form of Therapy

Bibliotherapy does not replace psychological support or medical care.
There is no interpretation, no diagnosis, and no personal analysis.
The workshops are cultural, sensitive, and creative spaces — not therapeutic spaces.
They offer presence, resonance, and gentle exploration, without any clinical intention.

Not Only for Avid Readers

Loving to read is not a requirement.
Participants may be readers, non‑readers, intimidated by books, or simply curious.
Reading aloud allows everyone to enter the experience, whatever their relationship to books.

Not a Space for Judgment

There is no “right” answer, no “wrong” emotion, and no expectation of performance.
Everyone moves at their own pace, shares if they wish, and remains free in their expression.
The framework is caring, non‑judgmental, and deeply respectful of each person’s experiences and sensitivities.
